How Vijay came back to 3 Idiots?

Gemini Film Circuit and Shankar had initially signed up Vijay to do the Tamil version of the blockbuster Aamir Khan's Rajkumar Hirani directed 3 Idiots.

Later Vijay walked out of the film sighting  'date reasons' and rumours of Shankar not happy with the star's reluctance to go for a new look.
At that time, Suriya was roped into the project by Shankar. Suriya's only condition for doing the film was his salary (rumoured to be Rs 12 Crore) plus the Telugu dubbing rights (today's market rate Rs 8 to Rs 10 Crore).

GFC was not willing to give the dubbing rights as they hold the 3 Idiots remake rights for Telugu and was planning to do it with Mahesh Babu.
Meanwhile Shankar started the shoot of the Tamil remake in Ooty and also said he will break the deadlock with Suriya who will join the shoot in February end.

Bur Shankar-Suriya talks broke down as the actor insisted on Telugu dubbing rights, which Shankar knew would make the project unviable.
It was around this time that Shankar started renegotiating with Vijay. Vijay who against all odds was able to release Kaavalan also decided not to dabble in Tamil Nadu politics for the time being.

His father SA Chandrasekhar in an interview to a national daily kept the door open for his son's entry into politics by saying 'Vijay will enter politics when he is 40'.

It was the badly needed breather for Vijay as channels which were opposed to his entry into politics started showing Kaavalan trailer and songs.
Assuming that Vijay does not enter politics for the next three years (he turns 40 in 2014), he has to give hits. Kaavalan's success has proved that Vijay has a solid mass base and if he does good family movies, he can win over the lady audiences.  And there is no better director than Shankar to reach the masses and classes alike.

The title of the movie is Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru as we already known. Vijay met Anna Hazare and fasted with him yesterday at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. He joined the ongoing India Against Corruption movement for an efficient Lokapal Bill along with his Delhi-based fans to show their solidarity.

Speaking at the occasion, the Pokkiri star praised the corruption crusader and saluted for his strong will power. He said that the movement has awaken the public to act against the corruption and has raised a new debate in the political circle. He is impressed with the way it has formed without getting political support.

The actor claimed that he is proud to be part of the anti-corruption movement as a Tamilian and he prays for Anna Hazare's health. Vijay, who could not attend the token fast organized by the Tamil film industry, went to the capital city and joined the 74-year-old Gandhian, whose satyagraha is entering eleventh day on Friday.

Meanwhile, Vijay is gearing up for the audio release of his forthcoming Tamil movie Velayudham. The music will be launched on August 28 in Madurai.

This year Vijay may end up as the actor with maximum releases. His sudden shift of gear is making the right noises in the right time at the right places. Even as he was doing ‘Kaaval Kadhal’, Vijay announced the next project ‘Velayudham’.

After that Vijay had agreed to do films for Seeman and Lingusamy. Though every one expected Seeman would begin his film first now the sources say Lingusamy will move first. Also his fans wait for the ‘3 Idiots’ remake under Shankar which is expected to start in October.

Meanwhile Vikaram K. Kumar has also moved inside the Vijay den. After dropping the film '24' which was supposed to have happened with ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram, the young director had narrated a story to Vijay and Vijay liked it.

When Vijay shared the decision with his father SA ChandrasekaranSA Chandrasekaran, he also approved and the film is likely to start early next year. This Vijay film to be directed by Vikram K. Kumar will be produced by AM Ratnam, the once high profile producer who produced the block buster 'Ghilli' with Vijay in 2004.

Exclusive Look on Vijay’s next 4 films

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has now found a right way to put things right at right places. His next three films will not be completely based on the previous films where he fights for the public and people.

The film KAVALKARAN, a remake of Siddhique’s BODYGUARD is a pure love story with unexpected twists in the climax. Laced with comedy and romance, the film will surely win good reviews for this film unless Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrasekhar has made some changes over the script.

The other film is Jeyam Raja’s VELAYUDHAM that is again a remake of Telugu movie AZAD that had Nagarjuna and late actress Soundarya in lead roles. The film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran and has Genelia D’ Souza and Hansika Motwani in female lead roles.

There is a tight situation over finalizing Vijay’s 53rd and 54th film as lining up of them is yet to be confirmed. First it was told that Kalaipuli S Dhanu will be making a political drama with Seeman making it (some importance given to Eelam issues) and now A.M. Rathnam seems to have signed Vijay with YAAVARUM NALAM director Vikram Kumar as the director.

Much prior to Vijay completes VELAYUDHAM; the decisions will be made accordingly.
